I've been debating for a while and I decided to get a new neck pickup on my S series. It already has an Evo in the bridge which I'm pretty chuffed with, but the neck pickup is a bit lacking really.

I'm wanting Dream Theater sounding rhythm something really tight that won't get muddy easily, with some Paul Gilbert sounding highs, and that'll really give a warm sound to sweeps and such.

Whilst the clean isn't the be all and end all, it'd be nice to throw in a smooth clean sound.

if we're talking humbuckers like i assume we are, then i'd suggest a Seymour Duncan Jazz. very very warm sounding! handles hi gain very well too, sounds just as great on clean.

that's my .02 cent. obviously if you go with a custom wound one you'd get it to ur specs, but it'd also cost half an arm lol.
