I've got it on my desktop along with xp and i love ubuntu. But I do so much that requires xp that I hardly use ubuntu.

yeah, i'm still using xp in the back ground. just for gaming and any windows thing i need to do.

you should man,

ubuntu is a good system for new people to linux.

best thing about it is. you can go download the cd and try it all out before you install the system.

and if you like it you click on install and continue doing what you was until the system installs


also helps if you know someone familiar with linux to help you out on some tricky things

Does the new version support Creative X-Fi sound cards? I had to stop using the previous version because it didn't support my sound card. I went on the forums and they told me that the card does not work with ubuntu, so I had to go back to using windows.

Downloading through Wubi now...I just hope my older laptop's Wifi card is detectable by it. It was painful under Feisty Fawn (7.04 or 7.10...I forgot)

best way is to install vista first then install ubuntu. it should work

I really want to get it but theres 2 things stopping me:

1. I'm not sure its compatible with my wireless card.
2. I can't get hardware acceleration with my radeon X1650 due to a problem with fglrx that means it won't work unless I change my AGP aperture size - something that is impossible to do with the BIOS I have.
