This from Metallica Enter Sandman (The Black Album Tab Book)

|------------------------------------
|------------------------------------
|------------------------------------
|------------------------5----------
|------------------7----------------
|--0----(0)---------------------
How is this played. In the Tablature Explained it shows this being a Trill. But how would you to that.

What about this
|-----(0)------------|-----(0)------------
|-----(0)------------|-----(0)------------
|-----(0)------------|-----(0)------------
|-----(2)------------|-----(2)------------
|---------------------|-------------------
|---------------------|--------------------

|----------------------------------------------------------
|----------------------------------------------------------
|----------------------------------------------------------
|----------------------------------------------------------
|--(2)----------------------------------------/7---------
|--(0)-------0---0----0----0---0----0------------------

So on this slide do I strike the 5th sting and then slide from the 7th fret or just slide to the 7th fret.

1) It's supposed to be a 'ghost note'
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ghost_note

Basically you still play it, but it's not prominent; or if you choose you could skip it (I always have with that riff personally)

2) You just slide into that 7th fret with a small slide starting from where you wish

When I first started out playing, I just ignored all the ()\p and h.
If you have good ears you`ll just hear it and know what to do.
At least thats what I did

Why do we feel it's necessary to yak about bullsh*t in order to be comfortable?

That's when you know you found somebody special. When you can just shut the f*ck up for a minute, and comfortably share silence.

At the beginning of the Metallica Black Album book there is a Key to the Tabs for what they mean. The only thing in the table with () around it are trills......There is no mention of ghost notes....

Trills are normally right next to eachother when in brackets, and are smaller numbers.
And wont be the same number (I think).
It would be like 5(7) with the 7 being slightly smaller..xD
