Just thought I'd let you guys know that I've recorded some raw clips with just reverb added so that you can get an idea of the valve king's tone.

Any criticism would be welcome (on the tone ofc, otherwise riffs and recordings would get annoyed).

Happy to share settings!

Edit: This is with a V30 speaker, although the valves are stock.

Edit2: Feel free to make requests of styles and I'll do my best to dial in a generic tone for that genre and make a clip in that style.

Also, feel free to listen to my other clips to see how good it sounds once you've mucked about with it a bit in mixing and post production.

P.S - No fancy soundproofed/acoustically designed studio here either. This is my bedroom, with a wooden floor, so forgive me if any EQ's I give out are a little light on the bass, as the floor makes the amp boom a bit.

Lol, that's mixing for you. The rest of the backing track (Drums, bass) were loops, but you can always assume that the guitar parts are played by yours truly.

Nice recordings, is that podcaststudio bundle thing good I saw it a few days ago and contemplated buying one but I remembered that Behringer are reknown for being pretty budget.

You have to fight the mic a little bit, but the rest of it is really good quality. Behringer actually are a good Audio Technology company, it's just their guitar stuff (generally) is below par.

A good Jazzy Riff that I've got on my profile would be nightfall, but I'll also try and get a raw clean jazz piece down for you if you want.

Feel free to request any style you want and I'll do my best. I fancy a challenge lol

There was a rhythm part in the Metal sample...Do you mean just the rhythm in a separate recording?

Great clips as always... I was able to get a good Lamb of god tone out of mine today before i went to work. If i have time tonight ill see if i can get a clip up. And its so nice not having busted tubes anymore.

Could you record just some classic rock rythm guitar. If you could play some of "all right now" that would be good.
80's Fender Jazzmaster
1976 Gibson L6s
Epiphone sheraton
Late 60's Univox High Flyer Custom Deluxe
Vintage fendr twin
Fuzz Face

Damn, I must say, those are the best clips of a Valveking I've heard yet.

Very nice!

I'm hearing a steady *thump thump* from the people above me and I need some porno grooves to play on my bass to give them some background music. Any ideas?

Thanks all,

I'm using a Jackson DK2M. It has Seymour Duncan pickups, I'm not sure about the model. I only know that the bridge pickup's only good on distortion and the neck is better on clean.

I'll try and record your requests in the next couple of days.

Oh that was you playing too? I just thought you were soloing of some backing track
With metal rhythm I mean some faster technical stuff like Metallica, Slayer or some death metal even?

I'll have a go at some faster metal, maybe disposable heroes? Death metal's not really my area at all, so I'd have to learn a song from scratch.

Try Open Scars from Kataklysm, it's not hard if you play it at a slower tempo

the metal track doesnt sound very grainy-gritty-metal too me. it seems more like hardrock/nickelback/creed type tone to me.

eh it will have to do haha, got sick of people saying it can't do metal when it clearly can out of the box. The guitar in the clip was tuned to Drop-D flat I believe.

UPDATE:

Jazz clip's on my profile. I tried to play jazzy, but it did sound a bit bluesy. Jazz tone though.

UPDATE 2:

I'm double posting, but there is an update.

I was making a quick demo to send to a band member of a song I'm writing, and I turned the gain up to 10 (which I hardly ever do) HOLY GAIN DISTORTION BATMAN!

Immensely br00tal, it doesn't go muddy like it did with the stock speaker..Really good dream theater type sound, though I think it might need a little tightening from a tube screamer or an EQ pedal. Just wow..thought I'd share.

In b4 my 5150 is way more br00talz than that, that's not a very good tone etc.

lol. "can't do metal" my ass.

People confuse "box of bees" buzz and true saturation. Good clip.
