there is now 'metal string' it's up to you, use what fits you. and please stop saying things like, 'CRAZY METAL!!!!'
The most merciful thing in the world, I think, is the inability of the human mind to correlate all its contents. We live on a placid island of ignorance in the midst of black seas of infinity, and it was not meant that we should voyage far.

LOL

Black Beauties look pretty cool. Try them. The one set I've heard is pretty flat sounding though.

Whatever you want. Metal is such a broad genre nearly anything with common sense behind it can work.

I foudn that d'addario prosteels gave me a really bright tone that cut though the mix. I'd look into them.

Chainsaw bladelinks?

But really, Metal generally scoops the mids, so for more of a "metal" tone I would reccomend your preffered brand of roundwounds. I second the Black Beauties.

Steve Harris has signature strings, I think Rotosound make them. If your into Maiden stuff they are worth a look.

metal strings work well for metal.

you can get them at a music shop.

Seeing as you have a thunderbird, I dont think it will make much of a difference to whatever strings you use.

Good ideas for finger-style have been suggested. However, you might want something different for pick style.

ok..so the newb posts a thread like this, and people start making jokes. Now he thinks it's ok to spam people's threads...nice job. You've created a monster.

On topic, TS with a bass you can just find a tone you like. There's no specific tone for metal..or any genre, really.
Nope, no sig here.

Sigged.

Anyway, I've found Black Beauties to be amazing strings, to be honest. They may not warrant the price tag, but the strings are just about unparalleled. I suggest trying a set.
