This is the first poem I've submitted to anything ever, I don't usually write poetry, just thought I'd give it a shot tonight, and did this one in about half an hour:

cold breath fills my lungs
the barren sky laid out before me
I exhale, to no end
as icy blood lies still in my veins
yet blood, still warm, surrounds me

lights flash past me, louder than any mortal sound
then silence
deafening silence
I'd choke out any sound, had I any breath with which to speak
give reason
give cause

the sky closes in, filled with peering eyes
fear, hate, confusion, surprise
I'm the guy who's invisible, until somebody dies
