Anybody got any good diminished scales I can try out? The only one I know so far is this:

e--------------------------16---------------------------
B-----------------------18---18------------------------
G---------------16-19----------19-16----------------
D--------15-18------------------------18-15---------
A-14-17---------------------------------------17-14-
E--------------------------------------------------------

Sounds pretty cool, but I want some other ones to try out too. Thanks.

Well I don't know about solos but how about that Smoke on the Water riff. It's like...impossible.

Do you have a program called Guitar Pro?

It has a built in chord and scale library. So you can pick whatever scale you want and the key and it will display all the notes on the fretboard.

(I assume you just wanted that scale pattern on a different section of the fretboard, yes?)

That's a diminished arpeggio, which is different than a diminished scale. A diminished scale will be alternating half and whole steps and contains 8 notes.
