I'm getting bored of all the songs I know how to play now and am looking for some new stuff to do, but I want to make sure I got the best of the best down (not the hardest, the best).
I am looking for people to post the 15 best/ most famous electric guitar songs that anyone who takes guitar seriously should know how to play. It doesn't have to be in order.

I'm looking for different artists. I don't want you to list 15 metallica songs. If there are a few good songs by a single artist post 2 or 3 of their songs in 1 place like so...

ps- don't put too many songs that are easy like green day and nirvana type stuff

my 15
1)crazy train/ bark at the moon/ mr. crowley
2)texas flood/ pride & joy
3)little wing/ voodoo child (slight return)
4)bohemian rhapsody/ i want it all (who doesn't love the solos in this song?)
5)basket case/ good riddance (overplayed but a guitar staple)
6)stairway to heaven
7)eruption
8)hotel california
9)crossroads/ layla
10)johnny b. goode
11)while my guitar gently weeps
12)back in black
13)any smashing pumpkins song
14)walk this way/ dream on
15)sweet home alabama/ simple man/ freebird

okay - obviously I didn't hit them all but I need some ideas of what to play

also on top a that list, i am looking for songs with one guitar part and electric only. I don't have an acoustic (i know right?). I have a classical and classical gas is a must but I'd rather stick to electric only so help me out please.

Well off the top of my head your missing muse songs badly, call knights of cydonia first and then go from there really.

But seriously, just keep playing and pushing your boundaries and youll slowly pick up these songs as you remember them and theyll be easy to pick up as well

I do play what I enjoy but playing outside what's comfortable is how guitarists become great. It lets you play different genres. I am no fan of metallica, but I won't say that they aren't good. I love songs with good guitar playing and simpler songs such as Goo Goo Dolls. It's always fun to learn something new and different.

crazy train/ bark at the moon/ mr. crowley - sub these for Diary of a madman. non metal heads love its mystique.

actual metal heads love it for its randy rhoadsness and the fact its not over played.

What utter crap. I take guitar very seriously and have done since 1997 when I first started. I have never felt I MUST know any song and I never will.

I just play stuff that sounds nice and is achievable without really forcing myself to it. I like to push myself as far as possible, but generally more than 2 weeks of hard work on a song is getting a touch long for me.
#20
you should play some death metal songs, its harder than you would think, and the solos are insane.
