I'm runnign a high gain SS Randall Amp. Rg200 off the top of my head.

in terms of my pickups, I think I'm set on the YJM, but was wondering whether or not the tone zone or Bill Lawrence L-500xl will be too high gain for the amp?

I'm running a Nuno Washburn sig, so my guitar is alder + Maple neck, ebony fingerboard.

Any Ideas?

I love the Nuno's tone. Prefer something with a chunky bass level but that can cut through on lead lines.

Shouldn't Nuno's signature give you his pickup choices?

I'd change the amp. Amp=Most of your tone.

What model are you using N-1? N-4? depending on the model it could be the amp that is comprimising your tone. Also It depends on what pickups will fit b/c a couple of em are SSS, a couple are HH a couple are HSS, etc...

But the most importaint thing I can say for getting his tone is just how you play.

i've got an N2 model, but I've installed EMG 81/85 combo, original FR, removed the fingerboard and had an ebony fingerboard put on. nice customer job.

I'm not in a position to get a tube at the moment, just wondering if a set of lower output pickup would be better given the type of amp and timber...

i would be looking at a H-S combination. is this possible?
