I need a phaser...and I'm getting aggrivated with all of this
technical talk...

Can you guys actually tell me what the difference is between the

MXR Phase 90

MXR Phase 90 script

EVH Phase 90

One sales man said the script was just cosmetically different.
Another said it was higher pitched..

For you EVH users..I was given the impression that the EVH is the most
aggressive phaser with a hotter gain. Another salesman gave me the impression
that it simulates EVH's tone. So is it gonna make my amp sound like a modeler
of a celestion speaker and 5150 that EVH likes the most? One salesman told
me its just the phase 90 and script combined?

I would really appreciate the clarification.

thanks...

I quite like his sig actually. Though I'm not a fan of Valvekings, I like the 2nd part.

And this is kind of a bump because I'd like to know the differences too.

OK Washburnd Frets, I'm not here to debate the issue of gayness, no I don't agree with your sig, but I really don't give half a **** so a big meh.

Now, to the point, the difference between the EVH/Script phaser between the standard MXR Phase 90, is the option of a Script selector switch that, when used, provides a more vintage and less mid-rangey phaser tone. The 'block logo' standard Phase 90 provides a more distorted mid-range and a more bitey phase tone. This is in accordance with what is known as an R28 resistor.

As for the EVH vs the Script, essentially, they are the same, but one has a red stripey paintjob and a blue LED and is quite expensive as you pay for the name on the thing.

That's the extent of my knowledge, all killer, unrivaled phasers though.

Oh and for the record, buy whichever one you get on EBay, about 4 times cheaper.

Doesn't the EVH one apparently "mimic EVH's tone" from one single song?

In short, Aleene, marketing gimmick, it's the same as a script. I got mine for the same price as a Script though.
