ok i want a new guitar i have £300
i have been playing for over a year on a squier strat i play classic rock and punk
what guitar should i get next
i quite like the epiphone les paul standards

but im open to any idea

So if I calculate correctly...that's $600 you have to spend.

What's your amp? If your amp sucks, you should replace it first. I'm fairly certain a Squier Strat is actually not bad.

I only played acoustic so far. So I selfishly recommend you to try one of Hagstrom Swedes or Ibanez ART300 / ART400, and then tell your opinion.

In theory yes, but since gear is more expensive in the UK, it probably equates more to around $400.

I'd take a look into Agile guitars, never played one myself, but from what I've heard they're fantastic.

EDIT: And of course, what amp do you have?

Just remember that if you have a crappy guitar AND a crappy amp then changing the amp is going to be more beneficial to you if you want to sound better.
