I've recently started looking into buying a composite guitar. I played a couple of the Rainsong models at a nearby shop. I like the durability when it comes to taking one along to the mountains on my kayaking trips. Anyone have any experience with these?

Thanks

I played one that a guy had bought just for the reason you state - it was one of the Rainsong guitars. It was really nice - played very well, but when I found out the price point (I think he paid around $2K?) I thought that kind of money would be better spent having a nice guitar to leave in the house and beater to take out on trips...

I was kind of thinking it could serve both purposes. I would like to have another guitar around the house in standard tuning so I can leave one of my others in Open D. I recently started dabling in the mysteries of open tunings and love them.
