Right i have a classical guitar and im getting it restrung 2day. Instead, i was thinking of putting steel strings on it.. do they snap more or less easily than nylon guitar strings? and also, what other affects wd this have on the guitar if i did put steel strings on it? Thanks pit monkeys

steel strings on a classical is generally not reccomended

they have a different amount of tension = bad for the neck/bridge

The strings probably won't snap, but it will destroy your guitar.

The bridge and neck aren't strong enough for steel strings, period.

This should have gone to the acoustic/classical forum.

dont! it will destroy the guitar, just get thicker nylon ones if anything

one of my friends did that.
slowly but surely the bridge came loose till one day POP and the bridge was torn from the body of the guitar.
