Everytime i try to play a riff (will be easier to explain in a tab)

e| - - 17p16p14 - - |

such as that, i fret the 17th with my pinky, 16th with my third finger and 14th with my first finger but i find it really difficult to pull off with my pinky (been playing about 4 years), its not that i dont have the muscle in my fingers, its the fact my pinky and third finger dont exactly move independantly

i also have a habbit that if im pulling off on any string above the the high e that i will hit the string below when i pull off, causing the riff to sound a bit...crap

anybody know any ways i could try get rid of these problems?

Thanks Carl

dont use your pinky then... use ur ring on 17, middle on 16 and index on 14... if u have a pretty big hand
