Definitely NOT the flying V.

Although it still doesn't look great, I don't think the explorer looks horrible.
The worst part about it is the headstock. I can't stand the curved one they put on it.
Overall, I'd perfer the explorer.
#3
Id rather have the reverse explorer and replace the headstock cuz that head is ugly as ****

the V loses...

but the ultimate loss would be the V with the explorer headstock.

Neither. Oh, and vs. threads are forbidden, I believe.

The explorer is a touch less ugly, but still. The headstock is what makes me wonder. What on earth were they thinking?

agree 100%

Neither. But a regular Explorer with the Reverse's pickguard and finish would look great. But both are some of the ugliest and most gimmicky guitars in design history.
#9
i like them both, although i think they were high when they designed the headstock it looks like a fan

reverse flying V should just be called a freaking arrowhead. it sucks.

The reverse explorer! If you put a bag on the headstock it would look kinda nice.. But the reverse flying v...

Excuse me, i have to vomit.
#14
what the FüCK were the desing staff at gibson thinking with that xplorer headstock??!!

the xplorer losses due to blasphemous headstock
#18
They're both extremely ugly.

I'd probably take the Reverse Explorer though, were it not for the fact that the finish is reminiscent of the Confederate Flag (and that HORRIBLE headstock).
#19
lmfao the explorer's inlays are so bad looking too... i just don't understand it, at all.

What's wrong with the confederate flag? Agreed on the headstock though

Is that a Moderne-style headstock on the Xplorer?

Edit: Nevermind. It looks kind of the right shape, but the tuners are in the wrong place

The explorer isn't so bad, until you see the headstock..

The Reverse V though is one of the dumbest things known to man.
Yes, I know everything. No, I can't play worth a damn.

Who in their correct mind would buy these monstrosities?

Collectors, that's who. These are novelty items and they are for collectors items, think about it, if you were to make a guitar to play, you would think of tone, looks and playability.

Now think about these guitars, how would you play that thing sitting down? or even standing up, it would be hella uncomfortable.

its just me... or the straps on the reverse explorer are.. well just wrong... look at it

i saw an orange reverse V once...it looked like a carrot

i just started laughing at it and wondered who would possible buy that

They're both hideous. The reverse Flying V looks like the clicker on the computer screen and the reversed Explorer looks like a deformed weapon. Personally, I think every reverse guitar every made is absolutely ridiculous. But in this case, I'm going to have to say that the Explorer looks worse than the Flying V.

I wonder how easy it would be to use a reverse explorer as a lefty guitar, change the nut then it should be perfect, other than it looking ugly as a mother ****er.

I'd rather the explorer.
However I'd change the neck on it. THEN it would be okay I suppose, infact, with a new pickguard and a different headstock (both are uglay) It would look okay.
