Hopefully this is in the right place. I need to make a solo for a song but im not sure what key or scales i should use.

D-----------------------------------------------------------------------
A-----------------------------------------------------------------------
F--10----9----7----5---10---9---14---12---9---10------------------
G----------------------------------------------------------------------
C--8-----7----5----3----8----7---12---10---7---8-------------------
G----------------------------------------------------------------------

X8 X8 X8 X8 X8 X3 X3 X3 X4 X3

That is the chords and how many times they are strummed. So i would like to kno what key and what scales would sound good over that. If anyone wants to listen its the song on www.myspace.com/risebeforethefallhobart

Looks like Eb major to me. You've started with an inverted IV, so either the ionian in Eb or perhaps the lydian in Ab might work for the opening few phrases. I would play around with the modes that match up, chances are that melodic or harmonic minor in C isn't going to fit very well.

Ooops I didn't notice the different tuning. Eb major it is. So C minor? Or better listen to Mad Bob it looks like he knows what he is talking about.
