I couldn't sleep last night and I feel like crap and sad. I cried randomly last night, it was weird. Today i can't even focus enough on playing my douche bag guitar. I don't know why/. Its rainy today and all that sounds appealing music wise is Dimmu Borgir. I know this is the pit and most of you will tell me to down some raw eggs and "man up" but i guess im looking for suggestions to not be depressed.

no suggestions like:
wanking
kill myself
kill everyone else
frame roger rabbit

Maybe some good music or a movie to rent?

If you feel like listening to dimmu borgir, spend your day finding new norwegian black metal bands and get into the scene

Get out and meet friends. Have a laugh. One night of sleeplessness and feeling a bit down is not depression.
#6
Frame Roger Rabbit, kill everyone, wank, then kill yourself, all in that order.

Serious post: Write music, that usually helps for me.

watch "its a wonderful life", great for depression
either that or just chill with some friends if you can

I usually go for a run, a bike ride or swimming when I'm feeling low, which is pretty often lately, it seems. I feel a lot better afterwards, mood wise and energy wise.
Hanging out with a few friends can help too.

Just get out a bit, maybe even take a walk by yourself so you can be quiet and reflect. Whereabouts do you live? Urban/rural? If its in a town go to the park and take a walk around, in the country just get out and explore on your own, all the while being able to clear your head and think about what matters to you. Fresh air is good. Or you could meet up with some mates and go somewhere, have a good laugh etc. Another good thing to do is to write songs, writing out your feelings is very therapeutic. It's why, for example, WW1 war poets wrote their poems, they could relieve themselves a little of the horrors of war by writing them down, as opposed to talking about them.

Peace.

I'm hearing a steady *thump thump* from the people above me and I need some porno grooves to play on my bass to give them some background music. Any ideas?

You'll feel better.
Go over in your head all the good things you have got like: Loving family, good job, education etc etc and be totally grateful for it.

Then go order your favourite pizza and have a night in.

If its for no reason, go out and get some excercise. Run for a little/ then walk. Then do push ups and sit ups...you should feel alot better maybe like a half hour later. and if you keep doing this for a while, you're depression wont come back.

Everyone has days like that. Just watch some films and go to bed.

This man is correct, what you need is human social contact.
And stop whining, no one wants to listen.

These guys are called endorphines, basically the human happy pill. Also a real good advice.

Listen to The Ergs, The Queers, Screeching Weasel, Chinese Telephones, etc... Basically overload yourself with upbeat happy bands.

On a serious note. I've felt like this before. Talk to your close mates. Maybe chat to them on MSN or arrange to go out somwhere.
