Well, I've got a Crate Vintage Club Series 30 watt, and there is rattling inside the amp when either I crank it or if I turn up the gain. Is that normal? Oh, and, though it may be the guitar, My Washburn (with EMG 81-SA-SA) is really noisy, and has pretty bad tone with my amp; it's really muddy and it is much weaker then my Dean (stock pickups). Any insights to this? I've gotten all my stuff used if it means anything. And I don't know the last time the tubes were replaced. Any insight would be much appreciated!

If its a tube amp, then check all the tubes, they might be getting old or loose (insert sex joke)

...How? Should I just (gently) try to move them? Sorry, I've had the amp for 2 weeks

The tops (of the tubes) are blackened. They aren't completely blackened though. Should I get them replaced?
