THe ones i an american deluxe strat, how do they compare to the regular american strat pickups? I really want S-1 switching for those humbucker like tones, but I've heard some bad things about the SCN pickups. What are you opinions?

Meh, they are ok. I would replace them though. Im still looking for pickups to replace the single coils on my HSS. Im putting a duncan distortion in the bridge pretty soon.

i didn't like the SCNs too much, but that's just because i was looking to get the true strat tone. they sound decent, but not like a real strat.
you can install the S1 in any guitar you want though.

its an aftermarket part, but a bitch to wire apparently

I'm getting those tones through a bridge on switch and a series blender.

IMO those pups really lost the true tone of a single coil. I would stay away.

Ok, I'll stay away. I want an SSS strat because IMO it looks much better, but I also want it to have a decent heavy tone in the bridge, enough that I can play AC/C or Zeppelin with it.
