For the best tingle, use Original Source mint. That shit feels amazing on your balls.

Mesa/Boogie Nomad is a pretty versatile amp and is well within your price range. Sounds great too.

Look at some low wattage boutiquey amps.
Bad Cats and buddas are both solid choices for classic british tones.
Chicago Blues Boxes and amps like that are great for american tones.

As for high gain stuff, i'm usually pretty clueless when it comes to amps.
But, you have a pretty high budget, so you have a huge range of amps you can get. You could probably get more than one if you wanted.

Thanks chaps
I want to play thing form pink floyd to blues stuff. I have looked at matamp , orange and Mesa/Boogie and more to boot . The problems is that there are not shops that hold all of then , so I can't test each one. So I have no idea of how their sound ,or which would be best

From pink floyd to blues eh? So, you're not gonna be doing real heavy stuff.
Maybe buy two amps?
Well, what wattage do you need? You could easily get two incredibly nice 20 watters for your budget.
