Is this bad for an amp?

I discovered this awesome sound the night that I got my wah. I thought it was broken

But, seriously, is this bad for the speaker? Because I have some song ideas that would allow me to use that squeal........

I've never smoked before but it looks like fun.

That's why I'm kinda nervous about doing it.

I'm kinda scared that the frequency of the squeal could damage the cone....

tell me what you mean!

If you take a wah, and plug the guitar into the output and the amp into the input, the result is a high pitch squeal that you can raise and lower the volume of. Think a police siren.

Well, if it's safe enough for Gilmour then it's safe enough for me

And that's what he uses on that song? I could never figure out what that was...

I don't know why, but I found this first line to be the most hilarious that I've read in quite some while.

I've heard of a lot of people trying it, and no one ever seems to say don't do, so I say go for it!

Yeah, I laughed too. It was the first thought I had after I posted.

Alright, thanks guys! If my speaker rips, I'll let you know

EDIT: That, and I'll be very pissed at those who told me to go ahead

Yes it is. He does it on Is There Anybody Out There? as well. I don't think it'll do any harm to your amp, it hasn't for mine.

Supposedly it works best with single coils.
How to achieve Frank Zappa's guitar tone:

Step 1: Buy a Gibson SG
Step 2: Insert Green Ringer, EQ, 3 dead squirrels and a microwave into said SG
Step 3: Plug in and freak the **** out.

might be it, since they pick up more noise from somewhere or something
