Most of the time I play in Standard or Half-step down. In some songs though I play in Drop C or even B standard. I have alot of problems with tuning in B standard though. I was wondering what is the best string company and guage for this. I want to be able to still bend the higher strings easily for solos, but i want good tuning stability for lower tunings. I dont always play in low tunings. Right now i use earnie ball skinny top heavy bottom.

Dr 11-50

eedit: i missed the drop b part. i use dr 11-50 and it sound sgreat all the way down to drop c. when i go down to drop b it still dounds good, but a little loose. i think id prefer to have maybe 12's if i was going to stay in drop b. thats just me though. i know people that use 9's for drop c lol

Whoa wtf. 9's for drop C? I put my Gibson strung with 11-49's to drop C and they were loser than my ex girlfriend. I'm gettin my LTD set up right now for drop C and we decided to probably go with the ernie ball not even slinky 12-56's. I'll let ya know how they are when I get it back and if I can find this thread.

True. My Gibson is 24 3/4 and the LTD is 25 1/2

Not much of a difference but it does make a big difference.

I recommend Ernie Ball Power slinkies (11-52 I think), Theyre excellent for Drop C and D standard tunings, and will easily cope with going lower. =]

Well I'm always in Drop C (sometimes D standard...) and GHS Boomers 10-52 are freaking awesome for that..

(keep in mind my Godin has a 25.5" scale)

With the name DiMeTiMe I would have never figured you as a Godin type of guy...
