I have a question about tremolo picking.
I know EVH rotates his arm fomr the elbow up to tremolo, and it seems pretty efficient. Is there a certain "good" way to tremolo pick without wearing your arm out?

No, not really. It all comes down to what you're most comfortable playing with. Also, you probably should warm up to avoid hurting yourself.

i dont change anything to "transition" into trem picking, just make sure you use your wrist, dont move the whole arm.

Learn to alternate pick really fast. It will give you much more control. I can alternate pick really really fast, and i do the same for tremolo picking. Most people when they tremolo pick, they pick as fast as they can, but they are not really controlling the pace of the picking, and thats bad imo.

It's all in the wrist.
Don't use your whole arm

Go
Up down up down up down up down up down up down
Just practice trying to get faster

You can make that in a day. Give blowjobs in your school bathroom for 10 bucks.

That's how I paid the downpayment on my car.

Jonny Greenwood, anyone? His arm movements just scare me.
