I own a Pod X3 Live and love it
I can get the perfect chunky metalcore tones out of it and still switch to a nice clean every now and then
So I am looking for a new amp and am going to get rid of the crate half stack I currently have(I just run my poid into the effects loop of my cratefw120 for now)
But I am not sure if the Atomic Reactor 212 is powerful enough for a true gig
So does anyone have any experience with this amp and is it loud enoughto cut through a loud loud loud drummer?
Do you have any other suggestions on modeller optimized amps that are giggable?

Well it's 50 watts of power amp so it will be more than enough for gigging. And according to the website you don't get a template for the X3 Live, but you do for a PODxt

I have an Atomic 112 18W and its easily loud enough for small - medium gigs and anything elese for that matter with a mic. The 212 is 50w and has two 12s so it will easily push ou the loudness. Just plug the X3 live into the effects return on the back of the amp and you will be away.

From what I can see from the schmatics these are actually underated. ie the tubes in my 18w actaully run at 45w. My only gripe is how directional the sound is from the megaton speakers, Basically it sounds muddy if you are not in the area being projected at. My advice for live situations is get it mic'd up.

Are you sure about that? You sure the 45w isn't input power?

I'm pretty sure it doesn't output 45 watts. AFIAK, it peaks around 25.

If your EQ looks like this your audience will look like this

It'll be more than enough for gigs. You'll most likely be micing up anyway or even using the direct outs from the X3L to the sound board.

you wont even use all the volume on the 50W

ok
thanks
I Like having a half stack and everything
I just can't find a good way to perfectly run my pod x3 live into it
and thats when I learned about the atomic
Micing my amp isnt an option
I dont want it to run into the same pa as the vocals ad that would be the only way to do it
hopefully it runs loud enough by itself
