I need to know this as i'm presenting a speach on it. Basically I need to know if the first 'o' is a long sound or short sound. Also if anyone has the original story in english that would be very helpful, i searched google and found one but its badly writing. It's the Egyption version of Cinderella.

Thankyou in advance.

My intuition would be to say it as it would be without the h "Rodopsis"

Becase it's very much like the word Rhodopsin, which is pronounced that way.

Well how are we supposed to show you how to pronounce it here???

You write out the sound of each syllable rather than the spelling of the word. If you don't know how don't bother.

Yeah but what I'm not sure about is whether the first syllable is 'rod' or 'row'.

I think it's like "row."

Ro-dop-is

Being an Egyption name it may be pronounced Ro-dop-ee in their native tongue. I'd go with Ro-dop-is though.
