So im building my first guitar and im thinking about painting it white with a 1/4'' boarder of black around the body and electronics. But, then my dad said that i should go with a wood finish to show off the wood.

So, what do you think. Its a flying v body, based off of the King V by Jackson

it would be sweet if just the top was white with the 1/4" natural border. Sort of a Goldtop effect with only the top colored in white.

Or you could do a negative of this... a white border around a natural body.

I'm totally in for that. In superstrats. My Ibanez S has it, and it's absolutely gorgeous.

BUT! A flying V is a showoff guitar. It will need a show offy finish IMO.
To me a flying v with a natural finish would look like a joke.

What kind of wood are you using? If i understand you right, the border you want to do is gonna be like fake binding, right? IMO, Unless the wood your using is figured or oddly colored, i would do the black border.

haha...you should have seen my school today, all the teachers and everybody in school was touching my friends snake.

Man, that pun never gets old. He brought his snake in today for his "how-to speech". We got to watch it kill a rat, it was ****ing metal
