Dare I say it, but I think The Ergs! are the best pop punk band ever. Yes better than The Queers, Descendents, Buzzcocks and Screeching Weasel. I know that is a bold statement, but I can't think of a pop punk album better than DorkRockCorkRod. They are also probably the funnest live band I've ever seen, it was amazing dancing and singing along to all their songs. So, discuss my statement and The Ergs!

I love the Ergs!

DorkRockCorkRod >>>>>> Dookie

However, I wouldn't say they are the best. Especially not better than the Descendents, because, no matter how awsome they are, you know that you thought they were the Descendents the first time you heard them

^Haha, that has some truth to it, except I knew they were The Ergs . I mean I can't really make that judgment, because I haven't seen the Descendents live, but I'm still willing to say The Ergs are the best pop punk band ever.

Queers, Buzzcocks, Descendents, and Screeching Weasel>The Ergs

However, The Ergs are amazing and one of my favorite bands.

Pssh, I still think The Ergs are better. I mean I know they don't have as much material as all those bands, but eventually, I think The Ergs will be thought of as the best pop punk band ever. Their live show is pretty much the most amazing thing ever, and on the track they're on now I think they'll definitely overtake all those bands eventually, but only time will tell.

True, but I think if you told any of the Ergs that, they'd laugh in your face.

Oh, I know they would, those are all their biggest influences. They think of themselves as a bunch of New Brunswick dorks who play music for the love of it and don't think of themselves as better than any small band in their scene let alone a huge pop punk band. That's part of their charm though, I really think in time they could be the best pop punk band ever. Every time I listen to Dork Rock it's just amazing how every song on that album can be so good, and chat.

I think Upstairs/Downstairs is better than Dork Rock. Speaking of which, I downloaded Upstairs/Downstairs off soulseek a long time ago and it contained the song Jazz Is Like The New Coke. That's one of my all time favorites songs now, but everywhere I search, I can't find any place that says that song is actually on the album. Can anyone tell me which album it really is on so I can correct it in my iTune?

Oh, and the Descendants aren't good.

And Crimpshrine is a better pop punk band that the Ergs. But just barely.

I have missed seeing them twice because I no longer have a punk friend...

I haven't seen a show at all since November

I don't have any punk friends either. It sucks going to shows alone The last show I went to was a month ago, but it was a hardcore festival, so yeah.

I loooooooooooooooooove the Ergs!

I wouldn't say they're the best pop-punk band ever. Definitely near the top, though.

Also, I think Upstairs/Downstairs is their best, not DRCR.

My Punk friend got found a girl who wasn't repulsed by the thought of his nis.

He promptly forgot about me and my friends...

Which is ironical because he was always the guy in my group of friends who would be pissed when someone was hanging out with their GF.

He'd rant about it constantly.

At least when I've had Girlfriends I have still made time to do stuff with people I wasn't dating...

But my GF's have all been real casual so maybe I just don't get it...

yep.

Not only are they the best pop-punk band ever, they're one of the best bands ever. Upstairs/Downstairs is one of my favorite cds of all time.

^Well, that could be true, but I don't really consider The Ramones pop-punk, just what sparked it. It's all opinion on who's the best.
