I have the stewmac DIY pickup kit and a spool of 42awg insulated wire. I made a winder out of a hand drill, magnet, face plate and a reed switch attached to my computer via serial cable...

the question I have is in regard to soldering the lead wires into that itty bitty teeny weenie little tiny 42awg wire on the coil. I have trouble soldering large wire let alone that tiny little hair-lookin' stuff.

Is there a special method you use for soldering the wires together? do you strip the insulation (formvar wire) and wrap a small amount around the thicker lead wire or do you just lap the coil wire over the lead wire and solder it like that?

any personal preferences or ways you guys do it?
