Alright.
I got my ****-ass Squire from my dad's house, put it in its case, and brought it to mom's. Simple enough.
When i got to mom's house, my e string had popped. Not broken, just popped. After several tries to put it back in, I decided that I may have to buy new strings.

Anyone know an alternate solution?

1) rot in hell plz?
2) I mean the string has come out of the tuner and it just lies limp, much like a flacid... well, that goes without saying.

How the hell does a string pop?

like off the saddle or off the nut? Loosen the string and put it back on, then tighten.

I don't get it.

I didn't come for new guitar advice, so gtfo.
Yes, I'm serious. Alternatives, as in, how else can I attempt the fixery?

1. throw guitar away
2. buy new guitar
3. replace strings regularly
4. ???
5. PROFIT!

sorry, i've always wanted to do that.

edit: same thing happened to my Fender strat, on the A string. just change 'em dude.

You say change them as if I have a stockpile of e strings lying around.

UPDATE: I don't have a stockpile of e strings lying around.

And where the **** do you buy a pack of strings for $6? They're $10 for Low-end strings here.

I officially quit strings.
I'll play however many survive.
When they all break, I'm done with guitar.

It's a matter of Mr Finkle doesn't have any $$$ to buy new strings, and my parents are cheap ****asses so that won't work.
