ok so i use a Flextone II 2x12 currently,

these are what ive been thinking about

Marshall MG100HDFX Halfie
Vox ADVT100HD Halfie
Crate GLX2000HD Halfie

which do you think?

OR...

should i just get a new guitar to use?

like i play a lot of Maylene, Devil Wears Prada, A Day to Remember..so i kinda want a Schecter Hellraiser or Tempest for the heavier stuff i play..

could a different guitar w/ different pickups change your overall tone substantially?

wow, i like my Flexy, but idk..

i have a need for more gain to do pinch harmonics better and such....whcih i AM doing properly, but they dont come out squealy enough on my highest gain setting on the Flexy

For that budget, if you need a lot of gain and don't necessarily need cleans, go for a used 5150.

ahh! yes, thats the amp model im using, the soldano super lead.

hmm, what guitar were you using?

i have that amp, used with the marshall cab, with bass-9, treble-9, mid-4/5

hmmm, any tips?

Try upping your mids and rolling back the other two a tiny bit. Pinch harmonics sound better with a bit of a mid boost.

yeah you dont want anything you just listed.
EQ'ing right will give you a great sound. you dont need to get new gear.

or you could just listen to better music, you'll get great tone that way.

Well its true. I listened to some joe satch, dialed his tone into my zoom, then based my current tone off that. And my cheapo setup actually has some balls in the sound. =)
