I want to learn how to play the 100 best guitar solos by the end of next year.

Anyone have any ideas of what the 100 best are?

Is that a ukulele in your pants, or did you just rip ass to the tune of "Aloha Oi"?

I met Sonic Youth on June 30th, and Mars Volta on Oct 20th.

if you could actually remember and maintain 100 solos in your head i would be very impressed. i dont think you could do it, but it would be impressive. learning them and then forgetting them doesnt count.

I have no opinion on this matter.

comfortably numb 1st and 2nd solos
By reading this magnificently and wonderful, adjective-filled signature, you have just wasted approximately 7 seconds of your life.

If an 8-year-old Chinese boy can play better than 99% of this forum, then I can do it. If they can put a man on the moon, then I can do it. If Michael Angelo Batio can solo with two guitars, I can do it. LOL...

I elect Invincible by Muse.

I'll see your Invincible and raise you Stockholm Syndrome.
If you can bear to hear the truth you've spoken
Twisted by knaves to make a trap for fools,
Or watch the things you gave your life to, broken,
And stoop and build 'em up with worn-out tools

The solo from this song.

hell yeah

I didn't listen to it, but if I recall- that's the talkbox one right? with the tapping, it's soo badass
And we will weave in and out of sanity unnoticed
Swirling in blissfully restless visions of all our bleary progress
Glowing in radiant madness

100 Michael Angelo Batio songs.

Have fun.

No, his music is very boring to listen to. He is a good showman and it is impressive to watch him play, but his solos aren't really that good. If you listen to him while not watching a video, it is very boring.

i know that list is bull**** because they have metallica but yet no windir or blind guardian

Amen.

The Guitar World's "greatest guitar albums" list was really good in including modern cds. Death-Human. Nevermore-This Godless Endeavor. Even At The Drive In and The Mars Volta. Yet, all of those end up at the bottom of the list. All of the cliche "Led Zepplin"s and "Metallicas" take hold of the top of the list.
These lists are too biased with the "classics", or whatever the frig you want to call them. I say they should be way more lenient.

if I had the top guitar cds, I'd definitely have a Between The Buried And Me cd, a Blind Guardian cd, and an Opeth cd near the top (well from the 20-1 area).
And it should be the same with songs.
Give modern music a chance.

+1 to that. I would definately put Colors and Alaska in my top 20. I would probably have Colors in the top 5. Oh, and that reminds me, if you want a good solo that isn't that hard, besides the sweeps, listen to Selkies by Between the Buried and Me. Now, that is a good solo.

^If you want one that is hard:
Ants Of The Sky.

And one for the whole family (aka one of the best songs Ive ever heard):
WHITE WALLS
=]

And yes. I agree with Colors in the top 5.

Edit: My top 20 would probably have BTBAM, some Death, Iron Maiden, Opeth, Tool, and even maybe Behemoth, along with your typical slayers and hendrix's.

Yes, Ants of The Sky has great solos in them and so does White Walls.

Just learn solos that you like... I'm sure you wouldn't even know most of the solos on the top 100 list if you have to ask for it. The chances that you would get them right are very slim anyways.

No they don't, and UG is proof...
