What's the difference between the

banez Prestige SV5470

and

Ibanez Prestige S5470

Which one has better pups?

Would i be better off getting a 2170? <----i've heard the pups on these can be a little weak.

The difference is the S has a ZR 2 trem (i think it's called that) and the SV has a synchronized ZR trem.

The SV is more of a Strat style trem and the S is a floyd rose style trem. If you want to be doing dive bombs and squeals with it, the S5470 is what you want.

I've had tube amps for a while now, but never actually had any go down on me

maybe you're not saying the right things? an amp likes to know you care.

Good video.
Pups on the sv sound really good! Anyone know what their like for btbam style stuff?

Not really honestly. Since it's made by Ibanez they're running it through an expensive board and it's probably post EQ'd like crazy. Really, you can't get a good idea of what a guitar sounds like on a video, you have to try it yourself.

As for BTBAM type stuff, imo, any guitar can do the sound really, you just need the right amp to back it up and the skill to play their songs. Put it this way, if you want to be changing tunings a lot, go with the SV, if you only stay in one tuning or have others you can use for other tunings, get the S.

That's the prob i can't cause there's only fender and gibson where i live...maybe an RG or two but that's it. So when buying guitars I usually just go by reviews and word of mouth.
Silly I know but it's worked out well so far.

Ya i'd prob just keep it in the one tuning. But i'd like the guitar with better pups as i don't plan on changing the stock.

Either one's pickups will do, neither one have the greatest pickups, but they'll be fine. The S5470 probably has higher output pickups than the SV as it's more geared toward metal/shred and the SV toward lighter stuff.

Anyway, I've found some pictures and videos:

Now a French video test of the S-TKS guitar : Video

That's all...
