ok so the other day i was watchin court tv. and they were talking about how this guy was killed. he lived in an apartment and the attic door was in his closet. a neighbor of his went into the attic (all of the apartment attics are connected so you can basically go through your attic door and get out in another person apartment) so the guy who was killed was sleeping and the murderer came through the attic in the closet. just as the man woke up, the murderer was walking out of the closet with the knife. people on the show were talkin about how horrible it would be to wake up and see someone coming out of your closet.

so i started talkin to some of my friends and people from class and pretty much everyone said that they have to have their closet door closed when they go to sleep or they feel uneasy. i am the same way.

we've all heard about closet monsters when we were little, but what about the closet makes people uneasy or nervous? why were monsters told to be in the closet in the first place?

I used to be so paranoid of my closet when I was in elementary school, because I read this ghost book where it said one type of encounter is where a clone of you will walk out of your closet and disappear or some ****. I'm still kinda paranoid about the fact that someone might be hiding in my closet, but it doesn't bother me much anymore.
I can honestly say I have really been far even as decided to use even go want to do look more like.

I don't always post on UG, but when I do, I post in the Pit. Stay thirsty my friends.

Mine doubles as a computer room...it's about the size of an office cubicle, so I don't mind having it open.
Nope, no sig here.

Because a closet is a dark, closed off space that shouldn't have anything living in it. Thus, if something alive stepped out of one you'd be proper ****ed.

:lol

My closet is technically not a closet. I have a wardrobe and the first time my cat did this, I nearly screamed. She likes to sleep in my trench coat from a halloween costume in there. Then when I lay down she'll come out and sleep on me instead. Well I didn't know she liked it in there and I sat down and she popped out and scared the hell out of me.

Do you know how embarassing it is to have nearly pissed your PJ's from a cat?

I generally try to avoid being that guy, but I'm not going to lie to you, it's possible that I shit in a friend's dresser once.

Closets that have attic access in them are always creepy.

Theres some story out there called "wireman" about some dead dude hanging from wires in someones closet from a secret attic entrance that was inside it.

Twas pretty creepy.

I always put a chair blocking the closet door before i go to bed each night.

but the closet isn't so bad. it provides me with a place to hang my clothes and hide my porn.

I think it's because the closet is the best possible hiding place in any given bedroom, thus giving it a looming element of "the unknown," which I personally believe is man's greatest fear.

Also, there be monsters in closets!
