Why are you here?

Not that I mind, but I just can't see why? Are you really that addicted to the pit?
I can't see any other reasons, seeing that there isn't even a drummers sub forum. (Is there?)

I can understand bassist's needs to go here, since there probably isn't too many bassist concerning forums(), they're both string instruments and some rules apply to both.
Just don't see the point for drummers.

Please, enlighten me.

Edit: I meant people that only play drums. Even if they used to play guitar, but never do anymore and still remain a part of the guitar community. Is it perhaps a sense of belonging?

Because I play guitar too obviously >_>

Also, GP sometimes includes drumtracks that are worth looking at (BIG help when playing Meshuggah )

Hey, what's the difference between drummers and a drum computer?
- The computer doesn't get faster all the time.

And what do they have in common?
- Both lack a brain!

They don't usually tell you right away. I can understand that. You also don't go telling everybody that you have chlamydia, do you?

Actually there are plenty of much busier bass forums - TB for example has a hundred thousand members.

Everyone knows that drummers are the sexiest members of the band anyway!

Keep telling yourself that.

Guitarists and bassists know how to use their fingers. Girls really dig that!

Which begs the question, why do bassists come here if there are other sites more suited? Again BASSISTS not "more than one instrument guys".

Yeah, and us drummers have well-developed upper arms and we also have big sticks and know how to use them!

Thin sticks though... Poor girl wont get much pleasure

Plus they'd get bored with the same rhythm being bashed out...

The major issue is that Talkbass and similar sites are more developed for gigging musicians, and a lot of bassists here are learners, small gig bassists and school band bassists.

It shouldn't be a case of 'you're a drummer so use that site' or 'you're a keyboardist, use that site' cause that's segregation.

We're all musicians for crying out loud!

Oh I see. Didn't research any forums, too lazy for that. And I agree that we are all musicians, but I think we can both agree the pit really isn't about musician talk?

Other forums on this site is for that, and they are based on guitar and stringed instruments.

But hey, like I said, I don't mind other instruments on the site.

You'll find though that a lot of drummers/keyboardists also play guitar/bass as well.

I've yet to meet a drummer yet who can't play a little bass or guitar

Well TB isn't very n00b friendly - it's mostly middle-aged Americans with a collection of Sadowskys and '60s Fenders. The bass community on UG is much smaller and much more beginner friendly.

I'll have to disagree- TB is more for the serious musician whilst here even casual players can fit in.

Saying that I took a hammering on TB for having a Shergold

There are more gigging/session musicians on there, but still the majority of the TB regulars are guys with high paying day jobs and a high instrument value to musical talent ratio. The majority of UG Bass regulars are in college, a lot of whom take music.
