i have a solid state Crate combo amp and when the cable is plugged in the amp and its moved a bit, it goes crazy and makes screeching noises and such, so i have to move it around to a spot where it goes back to normal. its not the cable and its not the input nut. this gets really annoying and it sounds like the problem is in the inside. can i fix this myself somehow?

Try a new cable. If that doesn't work, new input.
