I cant use google, or even get on to the pit! Thank god for PSP internet What do i do? Im running a disk defrag atm, ive already run a system restore to a checkpoint last week...

I have this problem sometimes.

Try power cycling by disconnecting the adapter from your modem for a minute and then plug it back in.

...modes and scales are still useless.

Do what the man above me says first! Power cycle your modem, your router and your PC first. If that doesn't work, look at the following:

OK, I am going to make an assumption here. I am assuming the following

1) You have an active internet connection at home
2) You have a wireless router
3) Your PC is connected *somehow* by this router.
4) Your PSP wirelessly connects to your router also.

First of all, we need to establish if you are connected to your wireless network on your PC. To do this Click Start > Run
Type CMD, press OK *A Black and white screen will appear.

Now type in "ipconfig", and press enter *sans quotes
A lot of data will appear. Look for lines with the following sets of numbers:

192.168.x.y
255.255.255.0
192.168.x.z

(Replacing x and y with real numbers, of course).

If you can see these lines, then it is likely you are connected to your router.

Next, we need to establish that you have an active internet connection on your PC.

Can you ping a website from your computer?

Type "ping www.google.com" *Sans quotes. In the same black and white box. This is perfectly safe and legal.

If the results read something like:
"Reply from 64.233.183.99: bytes=32 time=90ms TTL=242"
then you are connected to the net on your PC.

If the results read more like
"Request times out."
then you are not connected to the interent on your PC.

Let me know the results! I'll take it from there.

So what happens when you open up your web browser?
What happens when you try and access a web site?
Can you access any other online sevices (ie Torrent downloads / Online games etc...)?

Are you using Firefox? If not, that's your problem.

Thats normal.

I suggest opening your router remote access control panel (Mine is when I type 192.168.2.1 into my browser) and search about for any blocked websites.

There may also be blocked websites in your browser.

Your wireless adapter may also be so terrible that it has difficulty picking up certain websites.

Or perhaps you are using Virgin Internet, which is giving slower connection rates to website who do not pay them.

When i type my IP into my browser, nothing happens... But ive looked around my security settings and there wasnt anything. I dont use an adapter, it has a built in reciever thats worked well since i got it. Im on BT internet...
