I hear many people play their big muffs with overdrives... but what does it do to tone???

also what overdrive should i get with big muff??? im leaning toward a digitech bad monkey so far becaues its cheap and seems good

also which of the new big muffs are closer to the original 70's big muffs.... the little big muff or the NYC big muff reissue

I would say the NYC, but the little big muff is just a big muff in a smaller case. Im pretty sure an od would give it more crunch and more of a distorted tone, instead of a fuzzy tone.

the nyc big muff pi should be closest to the original.

also, i play mine with an EH LPB-1 Boost, very nice overdriven sound. 40 bucks on musiciansfriend.
My Gear:
Gibson Faded Flying V
"Dante's Inferno" Iceman
Fender Hot Rod Deluxe 112
etc.

I can't imagine anything worse than shagging to Mark Knopfler.

Maybe shagging Mark Knopfler, but that's about it.

but some people said the tone of the lbm was the most identical to the 70's big mufff.... not the nyc reissue

Well you ought to be using a power supply anyway.

But yeah, the Bad Monkey's sorta like a budget Tubescreamer.

I like analogue Solid State amps that make no effort to be "tube-like", and I'm proud of it...

...A little too proud, to be honest.
