So here it is, a new Lyric Game!

To keep things varied this one is gonna work a little differently:

Every sunday a new topic will be posted. During the week you can make as many posts as you like (8 lines only at a time though) relevant to that weeks topic.

You can continue the idea from the last poster, or you can just write a few lines about the topic. But each post must contain a stanza of Lyrics/Poetry/Prose.

That's it.

Towards the end of the week you can add suggestions to the bottom of your post for the next topic, if a few people agree then it will be chosen - At which point the thread title and the big text below will be edited: So check here before you post to see if the topic has changed! Do not just suggest a topic, you have to post a verse too.

This Week The Current Topic Is: Travel
Filth, pure filth... That's what you are.

put a spring in my step
we've all been here since god who knows
lets skip to the important part
let the time in our spring time be divine
#3
heathers and whatnot are flowering
orange and apple deovuring
shower or sun or whatever
ever indecisive, the weather
lambs, chicks and ducklings
all other animal ****-lings

spring is the consequence
to sex in the summertime
#4
The wind has lost its force
the cold seem to wear away
the new lights struggle to cope.
The suns getting brighter
and the nights getting shorter
the flowers bring in a bright glow.
Oh, its not summer yet
but spring brings me a new hope.

Spring forward,
fall back,
I never seem
to get on track.

Why must they mess
with all the clocks?
Those rotten jerks
can suck my toe.

^...

or lick it like a lollipop
the apple blossoms
slowly rock, from wind like
whispers through the branches,
Spring is a time for
second chances,
and finding a place
for new romances.
#7
new faces, new foes,
a year ellapsed,
you don't know where
all the time in the world goes,

april showers come
and wash the cold away,
good riddance to the winter
i hope sher enjoyed her stay.
"And after all of this, I am amazed...

...that I am cursed far more than I am praised."
#8
autumn kicks my face while i
replace the brown with red
and paint my nose with belligerence
but only to smell the colors. of the trees and the leaves and the seemingly
ever existent spirit that lurks between my knees as
i walk through the forests.
this time will be over soon, though.
and i'll be back kicking twigs that have no life
and i'll be back flicking things from season to season.
with my only reason being
i love spring
#9
My back was turned I guess
as the world shifted
into something tangible
the beauty turned to leaves
the awe-inspiring into
newbornes, and we became
just two people
instead of the lovers we were a minute before.
#10
the green of the world became a new
trees blossomed with new hope of life
the world awakened and life was reborn
with rebirth comes hope of a love unknown
because of the hope love springs eternal
the enternity of the love is unconditional
the grass really is greener on the other side
GRUNDY0!

I mean seriously. You could buy a half ounce of coke, and two good hookers for the price of becoming a level 50 elf warrior.

the other side of grass isn't green.
brown roots like all the dirt beneath.
the lives of those no longer seen,
to the soil, their nutrients bequeath.

I keep trying to find my way
to the other side of this field
I fetch the greener grass
I search for the life within
The frost has killed my plant
But I'll see new leaves in spring
#13
Spring and a crucial part
Green and a faint touch of red
Brown and a canvas spoilt
Me and an observing eye
Litter dropped,
and a spring so spoilt by a busy bee
#14
cans of paint topple over, past the stars
free falling through the heavens of space
Slamming
into earth, washing all with a thick sludge of color
color, dripping down trees, re-inhabiting the grasses
painting portraits of life
throughout the fields, suburbs and cities
spring topples down upon us
#15
The days fill with long walks in sunny parks
Discussing the philosophies of Castro and Marx
With those friends that I only have for two more weeks
Before they bugger off for study leave
The nights fill with parties and being chased by police
They drive up violent when all we want is peace
And make the party turn on to the streets
Leaving one grieving teenager with a house full of broken furniture
There's only one thing we can do to thwart the plot of these albino shape-shifting lizard BITCHES!
#16
It's tough on cops in college towns
The fucking kids all act like clowns
Drunk on wine and smoking hash
We had to quell their little bash

Spring is here, they'll soon be gone
But their legacy will still live on
And fall will bring another bunch
With brains completely out to lunch.

spring
the singings birds
the dogs terds
the old lady asleep
the homeless bums weep
wishing i had a kite
and don't wanna pick a fight
with a squirrel in the tree
where i juss took a pee
haha!

Believe it or not
The spring brought joy--
Brought it in the form of sun and sweetness
Fruits on vines and feeble blossoms
But do you think it was enough to save me
This time?
I caught a whisper in the eldest trees
"Don't you breathe too deep."
I will show you fear in a handful of dust.
#19
Deep
in contention with the realization that I
may be going too deep and ****
spring doesn't really make me think
except
"this leaves are like my head:
wrinkled. Crinkled. Little bit
disheveled. Change season. Please."
#21
Winter is just an old man
Overwhelmed with snow
Spring must come along
and make the sadness go.

If spring shines
to light the day
happiness will live
that's all i have to say

:/

A new topic will be chosen next sunday, not today. So start suggesting as of wednesday.
Filth, pure filth... That's what you are.
#24
spring is finally here
but it neither a good, or bad thing
the brutal chill of winter, abcensce of food
finally depart for the warmth

but with warmth, follows war
no blizzard to stop my enemy
the ground shakes with there marching feet
now, i know, spring is with me
#25
I am the creaking of a solitary tree,
I put the spring in your step.
Incogitative, I offer no shelter to those who flee,
I am what I am.

I am the sound from your lips, somewhere
the talk of the town; on particular days.
I guess you could call me cogitative there,
but yet, what am I to many? Nothing at all.
Filth, pure filth... That's what you are.
#26
Nothing warms my heart like Spring.
As the sun melts the snow and ice
so too, the gray gloom begins to fade.
Greens and blues
and pleasant hues
replace the monocrome
with technicolour.

Something far-off in the warm air
Doesn't seem to puncture my fears
Doesn't seem to quench my thirst
But maybe makes it worse.
Something about the high sky
Makes me look small in its bird's eye
Doesn't seem to touch my bones
And leaves my skin alone.
I will show you fear in a handful of dust.

hey its tuesday but im making a suggestion i know im living on the edge with this post.

ancient history (ancient war, battles, magic,) like knights of the round table sort of stuff
#30
the wilderness elopes in many ways
flowers, and creatures erected anew
the weather is finer, with warmer days
and chilly-ass days become more few
#31
Spring time hasn't appeared in my seasonal change in quite some time
as the months slowly all fade into a weird form of semi-summer in this drought.

However, I can feel Autumn's presence and the oncoming of winter drawing nearer
As I sit on my couch and eye the heater, wondering when I shall have to turn it on.

I hate spring. Give me the cold, a heater and cloud cover any day
The birds that sing should sincerely be shot and eggs are only for the eating.

I watch the rain
fall down in drops
drops that don't stain
just wet roof tops

The water adds life
to the weary trees again
as they sprung green
spring has come to play.

What about a darker theme for the next week??
I love dark themes.... :p
#33
I like the ancient history idea.

Or maybe just history in general?

That could be a fun one.
I will show you fear in a handful of dust.
#34
Smell of flowers in the air and I rose quickly from my chair
Daylight savings time arrived, so I reset my watch.
While winding something popped and it stopped..
I tried to repair, but I'll need a new part.

I sprang in spring
to spring forward
but I sprung my spring
now I'll have to spring for a spring.

No spam on the thread, please.
If you wanna suggest a theme for next week's topic, add a verse too

Darker themes sound fine to me.
I suggest either "Darkness" or "Night"

Spring sows its seeds in early Autumn,
That quietness seems aloud then,
For once I would like to see a failed conception
May Autumn never ovulate this year

______________________

Don't do a dark theme, they're too easy to write about...

How about we do a topic like "Monty Python"? Weird, and Abstract

in the land of spring, there lives a king;
collectors make his phone a constant ring.
his wife, Ling Bling, is from Beijing;
she doesn't know how to speak English,
except when she sings.
#37
Spring spreads papers across the floor
and Im still sitting by the door
writing a song on the back of a coin.
I wish I knew which way the wind blows.

I don't care for parking meters,
I don't need grocery stores,
I know how to get your attention.

I agree with the history theme, im not too big on dark themes, but meh I could try.

What is to say, ...the goose says it all
Cold wind brings bumps to the tall and the small
Spring aint nothing more than the opposite of Fall
The heat tries to talk but the air says it all

My condolence goes out to the park bench in may
It's solitude is broken by a hobo that swayed
at night, the moon light cant reach him, lets say
that a blanket made of human can cause some dismay

I know everyone is going for history... so i'll go with industry
