I have an epiphone les paul standard plus with a fender 10G amp. What i wanted was to sell the les paul and buy a Ibanez rg2550z. My question is that if i get the ibanez, I think i'll have to get a better amp. I'm not in any band or anything and ive only played for around 4 months, but I think i can get good and join a band pretty fast. So if i get a guitar that's around $900, around how much should the amp cost?
1st post. help please

Out of whatever money you can afford, aim to spend at least half of it on the amp. If you want to get gigging, a decent amp is by far the most important factor.

+1 The epi LP is fine. Its a great guitar and could probably last you quite a few years. On the other hand, your amp isnt too crash-hot. If i were you, i'd spend any money you have on a better amplifier, as it constitutes most of your tone.
