is there some way of modding the amp for this, (its a tube with EL84's)
Is there a pedal? (Please not a cheap digital multi effects with modelings.
Or better pickups (if so recommend them (have humbuckers)
Anything else to do
(...without buying a new amp)

Mesa is a pretty much heavy gain amp.
British amps are usually low-mid gain amps....
hmmm...maby a tube change would really help.

thanx, any ideas.
I think the EL84's have different amounts of pins compared to most british amp tubes.
What a tube distortion pedal help, could you recommend one if its possible
Cheers

the best you can do is turn up the mids, and turn down the gain to get a sort of crunchy sound.

how do those marshall handles compare tonewise to, say, mesa handles?

mesa's are phenomenally hard to get a brit sound out of.

the closest ive heard to a brit crunch from a mesa is the Lonestar (predominantly, the heads - slight variations) - but the cleans still sound quite thick and almost (too clean - like 6L6's)

Try the stilletos maybe?

Mesas are pretty American sounding. Right up there with Fender. The most dramatic move you could make would be a speaker change. An Eminence Red Fang (or other Red Coat model) would be a good choice.

See if you can get hold of an old (square black box) marshall guv nor pedal they make everything sound like a marshall
(the new ones are pants)
i quite like the crunch channel on mesas but youve got to get rid of all that gain and treble
Shut up and play your guitar!

boost the mids and bass-

and roll off some of the tone on the guitar
