I'm finally getting out of college soon and into a steady job. I want to stay frugal and keep my expenses low since I have a lot of bills and payments to make.

My first step is to figure out some decent meals that are on the cheap side. I wanna have a repertoire of meals so I don't get burnt out on one thing.

So you guys have any favorites? And don't bother mentioning ramen, even if it is to spite me for telling you not to mention it.

Chinese is really cheap near my dorm...

If not that, I've been surviving off of PB&J most of the time...

If you don't want that, get some Lunchables.

Lunchables?

Get outta my topic.

I'm looking for actual meals. Not something a 3rd grader would eat.

dude, the best meal by far is McDonald's dollar menu! $1.06, tax included, will get you a nice double cheese burger with no onions... perfect for the college kids such as ourselves.

see, a dollar a day will feed the starving!

mac and cheese, tuna/hamburger helper, peanut butter and banana sandwiches. actually making spahgetti is pretty cheap and easy.
#16
-tuna fish,
-kraft diner made with different stuff to keep it from getting bored of it, throw in hamburg, or tuna, onions, left over chicken or whatever else you can find.
-frozen pizza
-pre made pasta sauce and whatever noodles you like
-ramian
-chinease or other takeouts on campus should be relatively cheap
-peanut butter and jam sanwiches
-and anything in a can is relatively cheap and easy.
#17
I usually have a heft repertoire of hamburger helper/tuna helper in my cupboard. Those are decent and unless I'm starving I can get 2-3 meals out of each box. Some other healthy choices for decent meals are lipton's bags of pasta mix. The cheddar broccoli and rice one kicks ass.
#18
I find that it's cheaper if you buy ingredients rather than fast food though.

For example, buy a loaf of bread and a pack of cheese. You can eat grilled cheese all week. Not that I'd want to, but that's more of the method I'm going for.

But I take it most of you guys don't cook.

i can put together all these meals for around $15-20(some less) and they'll last a few days for four ppl maybe a week if its just u

Tacos-u need those little packs of "taco"seasoning, ground beef, season salt, pepper, tortilla, and some salsa
hamburger helper-box of HH, meat, done
chicken helper-same as above
spaghetti-noodles, meat, sause, seasonings
meat loaf-milk, eggs, bread crumbs, meat, a pack of dry onion soup
hamburgers-meat, buns, seasoning
hot dogs-hotdogs, buns

its a lot cheaper to cook for your self

Can't go wrong with Chinese...
I know exactly what I think I'm doing.

just have a pantry of pasta, some garlic, lemons, anchovies, olive oil and parm cheese (though the last two can get expensive). but ya you can live off carbs affordably i bet. and eggs. lots of eggs.
#24
Be sure to keep your eye out for frozen dinners that are on sale.

You can usually get a loaf of cuban bread for fairly cheap.

That + cheese = orgasmic

When I lived in Key West, I always stopped by Sandy's cafe and bought one before I got to school.

This.

High sodium though.

The ultimate meal is Shepherd's Pie.

It's a casserole with mashed potatoes, corn, green beans, carrots, ground beef sauteed in onions and Worcestershire sauce all mixed up with a pound of cheddar cheese on top.

A gift from the Gods themselves.
