Hey guys

Here's my problem. In a piece of music, there's a tuplet made up of two double-dotted quarter notes. I can't for the life of me figure out what its duration is; I'm really bad with this kind of stuff.

If anyone could help me, it'd be much appreciated.

Thanks

what time signature is the song in? can you post the entire bar or something?

because even i'm scratching my head over this
double dotted quarter note = quarter + 8th + 16th = 7/16
7/16 * 2 = 14/16ths alltogther => in a tuplet => nfi?

Wow lmao.. that sounds freaking confusing..
If you have Guitar Pro or something (knowing the tempo will help), I'd input it there, it's what I usually use to get my timing accurate

This is what's ruining me - I don't know what the time signature, is, as it isn't shown. The measure, however, is:

quarter note, double-dotted quarter tuplet, double-dotted quarter tuplet, quarter note.

I have Power Tab, tried putting it in, still couldn't figure it out, and thus I turn to UG

it might actually be duplet (probably more likely as you've got 2 notes of the same length), where you've got 2 notes in the time you'd usually play 3 (they're used in stuff in compound metres, 9/8 and such)
