Has anyone tried these through a single speaker combo? If so how do they fare with high gain amps with bottom end at high volumes?

iv seen a few people that like these better than the vintage 30 speakers, they say you dont get the same ear painfull highs like you can get with the vintage 30

Since when? It says so right on their page.

Never tried them in a 1x12 combo so I can't really help you there, they sound great in the 2x12 my friend has.

I've had tube amps for a while now, but never actually had any go down on me

maybe you're not saying the right things? an amp likes to know you care.

oh damn. For some reason i'm thinking of Hellatone speakers (the 60 is based on the V30, the 30 is based on a G12H30) sorry about that.
