OK, I want to connect my bass into my laptop (I don't bother using the PC anymore), but the problem is it only has the mic input, not a line-in.

Will I get an alright sound by plugging it through my FX pedal, then a 1/4 to 1/8 stereo adaptor into my laptop? If not, are there any alternatives, such as guitar to USB leads?

Jonn0, it seems alright to me logically.
It works with guitar so, why not guitar's retarded cousin?

I kid, I kid.

Yeah man, I think you should at least try it out. What could it hurt?

Depends on your FX.
If it has an amps and cabinets modeler, it's going to sounds great. If not, it's going to sound like crap.
Alternatively, you could download Guitar Rig 3 and connect your bass directly to the mic entry.

I could regret not spending £7 on something worthwhile,
