Has anybody ever done a kill button, instead of a switch? This way when you push down on it, it mutes the output coming from your guitar and auto releases when you let go.
This would be great for holding a sustained chord or note and tapping out syncopated rhythms. Add a delay on top and it could get real trippy. Instant Pro Tools chopping sounds on your axe!
I'm having a guitar made for me now, but on my next one after this, I'd like to add that feature.

People use all sorts of things for kill switch.
I heard someone even used a searchbar for a killswitch.

lol... who ever uses search bars now a days anyway? lol

but yea, people use both, nothing special.... but if you want that cool effect like buckethead uses you want a momentary switch which can be gotten from radioshack for a couple bucks... a friend of mine just got a togle switch on his.

He refused to believe that you could use a momentary switch faster, lol but to each their own
