Audioslave - Out of exile

I think that's the one. It starts out good then gradually starts sounding like a flock of seagulls having a fight over a sandwhich.

Solos that just follow the vocal melody of the chorus of the song.

Oh yes, like most English mainstream indie songs *hides*
#9
black label society solos.

pentatonic wanking solos were awesome back in the day though, like guns 'n' roses, or cream.

That's not true at all

I'd have to say that greenday one where the solo is exactly the same as the bog-standard riff from the rest of the song, only an octave higher and with more distortion. I think it's wake me up when september ends?

That's mostly why I only listen to Audioslave one or two songs at a time.

At first it's like "ah, this is a pretty cool style of playing," but then it becomes "for christ's sake! Put those pedals away and just play your guitar like a normal person!"

Slayer Solos. No offense to Mr. King. Just my least favourite type of solo.

+1, the only solo I hate more than any Slayer solo is Smells Like Teen Spirit... shudders...

EDIT: And When September Ends by Greenday

Yeah it can be like that, I remember first listening them on the bus, and lol'd on nearly every song's solo... Crazy, just like the people must've thought I was.

It works amazingly well on "Like A Stone" though, in all fairness.

I have to agree with grouch, Micheal Angelo Batio solos. No feeling at all, just some senseless shredding....

I agree with Malmsteen (sorry, I just had to). He's a one-trick pony, and that particular trick gets really old really fast. I mean a long time ago before I knew much about technical playing, I thought Arpeggios From Hell was one of the greatest songs ever made. Then I learned a thing or two and realized that it's the same damn thing over and over again.

Bodom, though... I effin love their stuff. Especially the solos.

I actually kinda like those.

And i agree with the audioslave. I dont really listen to much of them, but i remember i thought the solo came out of nowhere and felt really out of place in Be Yourself.
