right now i have an Epiphone Les Paul Standard and my Squier Strat is on the fritz and i need another backup guitar under $500

some ones i found were the Epiphone SG 1966 Limited Edition or the Epiphone Explorer

I don't think you need a backup guitar. Just take care of your Les Paul.

Buy a new amp! You need that more!

Looks like an accurate assessment to me. An amp should be your first priority. I'd think your next guitar purchase would be designed to slide your Epiphone to back-up status, too.

yeah im planning on buying the Crate V Series 50-Watt Tube Combo...so yeah

what would you recommend on a budget to move back my epiphone...

When I'm looking at new guitars, I'm usually looking for something that does something different than what I've got. Seems like a MIM Strat would be a good compliment to an Epi LP. Or maybe a hollow body like an Epi Casino or something.

A new guitar is so personal, it's tough to make suggestions online. What do you want the instrument to do for you?

lol i just want it to play
plus the epi sg and epi explorer are in my price range..not like im a pro here...just an amatuer with a local small town band haha
