take your pick, choke up on it really good so that only like 1.5 - 2 mm is stcking out.

Hit the fret with the fret hand. Play the note but but just as you feel the pick release the string roll your hand ever so slightly back (towards you) so that your thumb just grazes the string. With fretting hand, bend the string up and down for sustain.
That's the tiniest break down I can do, that is literally all there is to it. You just gotta practice them alot!
Out here you've gotta know where your towel is!

High gain / distortion. Good pickups help as well.
