So, i need a good sounding/good looking acoustic-electric for $300-500 that i can gig everywhere with.

I figured i'd try the EW20QMEBBD and EW20ASE but i can't decide which one

I can see the differences but which one is worth the price? If you have a better suggestion you can post it...

~Thanks~

I think that possibly the Maple one costs more b/c fig. maple is more expensive. The Quilt Ash acoustic sounds really good. If it werent for the price or the fact that my hummingbird is pretty much fixed, i would have one.

Avoid ALL Ibanez acoustic guitars. Period. You have no idea what kind of horror stories i've heard from acoustic repair guys on this forum. Do your favour, and just DON'T get an Ibanez. Just Dont.

I wouldn't say that. Don't buy before you play. Walk out with only the one that you have played. Those are the rules to a good and satisfactory purchase. Ibanez has terrible quality control. I know, I sold and repaired them. They're like a cruel joke; Ibanez has the potential to make great guitars, but they don't care enough to hire properly trained workers or watch just what guitars they sell. It's not the import factor, since Blueridge, Silver Creek, and even the Masterbilt line blow any Ibanez acoustic out of the water.

Just be careful, and DO NOT buy online. If you have to drive to another state to find a guitar store, then do it. Stay away from buying online.
Sincerely, Chad.

Must it be a new guitar? I like the 90's Ibanez Artwoods with solid spruce tops and laminated sides. They were made in Korea and the quality was better than the new ones coming out of China now. Plus the solid spruce top has time to open up and the older guitar sounds much better than a new one.

Either a Takamine or an Alvarez would be my preferences here for your price range.
Alvarez AD60SC (I own one, its a fantastic guitar) and I can't remember which Takamine models, The EG340SC perhaps... In Australia Takamines seem to be priced well above what they are priced in the US (Even with exchange rates and all that theres a HUGE markup) whereas the Alvarez wasn't marked up as much which was one of the main reasons why I never really looked into Takamines when I purchased. But they are great guitars and in the US at least, they are at good prices too.
