well im about to start on a custom project but before i start i have one question. i want to do a neck through guitar, but i want to put a flame or quilted maple on top, can i do this. to make sure im clear, im going to have a through neck, some other wood for the sides, and im going to put a flame or quilted maple top on it. can i do this. thanks in advance.

Yeah, you just measure everything. Not once, not twice, but ten...ce. And then you shave off the surplus from the part of the neck that's in the body.
